Cleaning & Maintenance

For everyday cleaning, simply wipe the coasters with a damp microfiber cloth and a drop of mild dish soap if needed. Avoid abrasive sponges, vinegar, or citrus-based cleaners, as the acidity can dull the natural stone's finish. Because slate is naturally porous, always pat them dry immediately with a lint-free towel rather than letting them air dry; this prevents unsightly water spots or mineral buildup from forming on the dark surface.

Deep Care & Protection

To maintain that deep, charcoal luster and mask any light surface scratches, you can occasionally apply a "seal" using a tiny amount of food-grade mineral oil.

• Apply a few drops to a clean rag.

• Buff the oil into the stone in a circular motion.

• Wipe away any excess until the surface is no longer tacky.

Note: While slate is heat-resistant and durable, it can be brittle. Avoid dropping them on hard surfaces or stacking them roughly to prevent chipping along the natural cleft edges.
